Haugen Injured In Alcohol-Related Crash

An Erskine area man was injured in a single vehicle accident over the weekend in Polk County. 

Authorities say alcohol was a factor. 

According to the State Patrol report, Kevin Wayne Haugen (60) was injured when the westbound 2001 Jeep he was driving struck the back of a Highway 59 guardrail at Highway 2 in Knute Township. Haugen was transported via ambulance to Essentia Health Fosston where he was treated for injuries troopers at the scene described as non-life threatening. 

According to the State Patrol report, Haugen had been consuming alcohol prior to the crash reported just before 11pm Saturday.
