HEALTH OFFICIALS LINK ALFALFA SPROUTS TO MULTI STATE ILLNESS OUTBREAK

Minnesota health officials are warning consumers about alfalfa sprouts linked to a multistate outbreak of E. coli and Salmonella. At least 23 Minnesotans have become sick, including two who were hospitalized, and no deaths have been reported. The sprouts were produced by Minnesota-based Everything Sprouts and sold under the Everything Sprouts and Calco brands. Health officials say consumers should not eat the affected sprouts and should throw them away.
