Healthcare Expected to Shape Minnesota Election, 2027 Session

Healthcare costs and access are expected to remain major issues through Minnesota’s November election and into the next legislative session.

DFL Senator Aric Putnam of St. Cloud says lawmakers recognize the seriousness of rising costs and limited access, but reaching an agreement on funding remains difficult.

Putnam says the pressure is especially strong in rural Minnesota, where financially struggling hospitals and clinics could face closure without additional support.
