Helmet, Seatbelt and Registration Violations Reported
Officials with the Minnesota Department of Natural Resources are conducting ATV safety checks.
Conservation Officer Sarah Jahn in Thief River Falls East offered a reminder that anyone under the age of 18 needs a helmet when riding an ATV. She says over the course of two days, five class-two ATVs were stopped for failing to have helmets on minors as young as two months old.
Conservation Officer Ben Huener in Roseau also reports that violations for the week included operating ATVs with juvenile passengers without a helmet, and without seatbelt.
Conservation Officer Nicholas Prachar in Baudette West says enforcement action was taken for failure to display ATV registration and littering.
