Hennepin Co Deputy Released from Hospital After Shooting in Minnetonka
A Hennepin County Deputy was released from the hospital Thursday afternoon after being shot in Minnetonka while serving a warrant at a home on Wednesday.
KSTP reports the deputy walked outside HCMC to a round of applause, smiling faces and a sense of relief.
Deputies were met with gunfire while serving the arrest warrant and that injured deputy was one of two that were injured.
The second deputy was treated at the scene and released.
According to the BCA, the person at the house shot at law enforcement and they returned fire. The gunman died from his injuries at the scene. The Star Tribune is reporting emergency dispatch audio and a law enforcement source confirm he was not the subject of the warrant and was not named in the warrant.
No one is in custody at this time, as the investigation continues.
