Horace Man Sentenced to 20 Years in Girlfriend’s Death

A Horace man has received a 20-year sentence in the shooting death of his girlfriend.

Derrick Lobbo pleaded guilty to manslaughter and child neglect in the death of 23-year-old Sakeena Khaadi.

Khaadi was fatally shot at the couple’s Horace apartment in November 2025. Lobbo’s two-year-old child was inside the apartment during the incident but was not injured.

Fourteen victim-impact statements were presented during Thursday’s sentencing hearing.
