(Minneapolis, MN) – The Twins scored seven runs in the bottom of the ninth inning on Friday night at Target Field, but it wasn’t enough to complete a comeback, as the Twins lost to Houston, 13-12. The Twins led 4-3 after the fifth inning, but Houston scored three in the sixth, one in the seventh, three in the eighth and three in the ninth to lead 13-5. The Twins scored seven in the bottom of the ninth, including a grand slam by Carlos Correa to pull within 13-12, but the Astros held on for the win. Minnesota starter Pablo Lopez takes the loss as he pitched five-plus innings and gave up six runs. Twins D-H Jose Miranda went 4-for-4 in the game and now has hits in a team record ten at-bats in a row. This was game one of a three-game series at Target Field between the teams. Games two and three are at 1:10 p-m today and tomorrow.
