Hutchinson Approves First Step in Adopting Chicken Ordinance

The Hutchinson City Council Tuesday night approved the first step in adopting an ordinance that will allow residents to raise chickens.

A public hearing was held on the proposed ordinance but only one person spoke in opposition.

After the hearing, the council approved the first reading. The second reading is scheduled for the council’s next meeting on May 27th. If approved, the ordinance then becomes policy.
