Hutchinson Franklin Street Site Redevelopment Moves Forward

The Hutchinson City Council is moving forward on a proposal for the redevelopment of the city-owned site on the northwest corner of Franklin Street and 1st Avenue NW.

On Tuesday, the council approved a preliminary proposal from St. Cloud-based GC Real Estate Partners to build a $17-million, 4-story, 79-unit, multifamily apartment complex.

In November, the Economic Development Authority received 3 proposals to consider.

EDA Director Miles Seppelt told the council some of the reasons why they recommended the GC Real Estate Partners proposal:

If the plan continues to move ahead with final plans and agreements with the city, construction would begin next summer and be completed within 12 months.
