Ida Louise (Blatz) Schwartz

Ida Louise (Blatz) Schwartz, age 80, of Chanhassen, MN, formerly of Chaska, MN,  died peacefully on Friday, June 19, 2026 at Abbott Northwestern Hospital, Minneapolis, MN.

Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, 11:00 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church, 300 East Fourth Street, Chaska, MN, with Pastor Greg Snow officiating. The visitation will be on Monday, July 6, 2026, 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the Bertas Funeral Home, 200 West Third Street, Chaska, and also one hour prior to the service at church. The burial will be at St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery, Chaska, MN.

Rex and Ida were blessed with two children Amanda (Tobiah), 45, of Coon Rapids, MN and Pierre (Lori), 42, of Andover. Ida was also very blessed with 6 grandchildren Eleanore, Ethan, Leah and Lucian of Amanda, and Kayla and Mason of Pierre.

Ida was preceded in death by parents Walter M. and Eleanore E. Blatz, brother Val C. Blatz, and husband Rev. Rex M. Schwartz.

Funeral arrangements are with the Bertas Funeral Home, Chaska, MN.
