INCOME TAX FILING SEASON STARTS IN TWO WEEKS
The Minnesota Department of Revenue is opening the state individual Income Tax filing season Monday, January 27, the same opening day for the IRS. Tax software providers and tax professionals may be accepting and preparing tax returns before January 27 and will submit those returns when the IRS and state systems open. One change will be a first-in-the-nation advance payment option for Child Tax Credit recipients is available to help families get the benefits of the credit and when it best meets their budget needs. Plus there is a new renter’s credit where renters eligible for a tax refund will now claim the new Renter’s Credit on your Minnesota return.
