Injury Reported In Train/Vehicle Collision

A Grand Forks area man was injured in a collision with a train Monday in Polk County. 

According to the Minnesota State Patrol, Theodore David Krmpotich (36) was injured when the 2010 Nissan Altima he was driving collided with a BNSF train on Highway 75 in Lowell Township. 

Krmpotich was taken to Crookston Hospital and treated for injuries troopers at the scene described as non-life threatening. He was wearing a seat-belt at the time of the accident reported just before 4:30pm. 

Officials say alcohol was not a factor in the accident.
