INVESTIGATION AFTER INCIDENT AT FRANKLIN ELEMENTARY IN MANKATO

Mankato authorities are investigating after a student reported being approached by a stranger and being asked to get in their vehicle Thursday morning.  Mankato Area Public School Superintendent Paul Peterson sent a note to district families saying the student was walking to Franklin Elementary and was approached by a stranger and was asked to get into their vehicle.  The student was able to leave the area and make it back to their home.  The district is working closely with Mankato Public Safety in the investigation.  Extra law enforcement patrolled the area out of abundance of caution.
