Iowa Company Acquires Luverne Fire Truck Manufacturer

A longtime Minnesota fire truck manufacturer has been acquired by an Iowa-based company.

Stellar Industries of Garner, Iowa, has purchased Midwest Fire, which has designed and manufactured custom fire apparatus in Luverne since 1987.

Midwest Fire will continue operating as a separate company under the Stellar umbrella. Its headquarters and manufacturing operations will remain in Luverne.

Eligible Midwest Fire employees will also become participants in Stellar’s employee stock ownership plan. Stellar is entirely employee-owned.

The acquisition expands Stellar’s manufacturing business into the fire and emergency-response vehicle market.
