Jacob Wetterling Documentary Begins Minnesota Theater Run

A documentary examining the Jacob Wetterling case will begin a month-long Minnesota theatrical run with a benefit screening August 8th at the Paramount Center for the Arts in St. Cloud.

“Echoes in the Night: The Search for Jacob Wetterling” follows the investigation, the case’s lasting effect on central Minnesota and the Wetterling family’s work to improve child safety. The St. Cloud event begins with a reception at 4 P-M, followed by the film at 5 P-M.

Director Chris Newberry will participate in an onstage discussion with Patty and Jerry Wetterling, Jared Scheierl and Joy Baker. The event will also raise money for the Jacob Wetterling Resource Center and Central Minnesota’s Child Response Initiative.

Additional screenings are scheduled during August in St. Michael, Cold Spring, Woodbury and Minneapolis. Scenes from the documentary were recently featured in an ABC “20/20” episode about the Wetterling case. The ABC program—not the complete documentary—is currently streaming on Hulu and Disney Plus.
