Jefferson Welcomes Vikings Quarterback Competition

Minnesota Vikings star receiver Justin Jefferson says the competition between J.J. McCarthy and Kyler Murray should make both quarterbacks better.

Jefferson says having two players battling for the starting position brings a competitive spark to the quarterback room and encourages both players to raise their level of play.

Training-camp reports indicate Friday’s workload was divided fairly evenly between McCarthy and Murray. Both quarterbacks have received opportunities with the first-team offense throughout the offseason.

Head coach Kevin O’Connell has not announced a starter. Jefferson says he intends to continue developing timing and chemistry with both quarterbacks as the competition moves forward. Minnesota Vikings
