Jenett May Rortvedt
Jenett Rortvedt, age 81 of Morris, Minnesota, passed away Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at the Hoffman Senior Living in Hoffman, MN.
Visitation for Jenett Rortvedt will be held Monday, October 5, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, MN.
Funeral services for Jenett Rortvedt will be at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, October 5, 2026 at at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, MN, with Pastor Krista Sullivan officiating.
Burial will be in Summit Cemetery in Morris, MN.
Jenett May Jorgenson was born on March 31, 1945, in Pepperton Township, Stevens County, MN, to Milias (Shorty) and Augusta (Long) Jorgenson. Her early years were spent on the farm and attending country school near Alberta before moving to Morris with her family. She continued her education in Morris and graduated from Morris High School with the Class of 1963.
On October 26, 1963, Jenett married Roger Nybakke. They made their home on a hog farm in Framnas Township. The couple raised two daughters, Angela and Nathalie. After the divorce, Jenett moved into Morris. Jenett and David Rortvedt had a fairytale courtship and on July 1, 1995, they were united in marriage.
Jenett had many occupations in her life, but the most important was being a wife, mother, daughter, sister, and grandmother. Taking care of her loved ones was one of her greatest accomplishments and gifts.
In her younger years, Jenett lived to go roller skating and loved being a part of a bowling team. She was always proud of her flower gardens and enjoyed working in them. She also enjoyed trips to the Casino and listening to 50’s music. Jenett and Dave enjoyed spending their free time with family and friends. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and getting to celebrate them.
She is survived by her daughters: Angela Nybakke of Morris, MN, and Nathalie (B.J.) Klassen of Kensington, MN; step-son: Scott (Angela) Rortvedt of Fargo, ND; brother: Dennis (Katy) of Mercedes, TX; sisters: Patty Ann Giese of Shakopee, MN, and Carolin (Dallas) Pillen of Chokio, MN; grandchildren: Tyler, Andrew, and Chase Klassen; step-grandchildren: Brianna Swanson and Carley Rindy; and has two step-great grandchildren; along with many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband: David Rortvedt; parents: Milias (Shorty) and Augusta; sister: Susan Southwell; brother: Donald Jorgenson; brother-in-law: Bud Giese; and sister-in-laws: Peggy, Solveig, and Kathy.
