Judge Dismisses ICE Protest Lawsuit

A federal judge has dismissed a lawsuit accusing immigration agents of violating protesters’ constitutional rights during Operation Metro Surge.
The lawsuit was filed by the American Civil Liberties Union of Minnesota on behalf of several protesters. It challenged tactics allegedly used by federal agents during demonstrations in the Twin Cities.
The judge determined the plaintiffs lacked standing because the enforcement operation had ended and they could not establish an imminent threat of similar treatment.
The A-C-L-U says it is reviewing the decision and considering its options.
