Julieann “Julie” Idell Bakken, age 70 of Morris, Minnesota, passed away Thursday, July 16, 2026, at the Barrett Care Center in Barrett, MN, with family by her side.
Visitation for Julie Bakken will be held Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, MN.
Memorial services for Julieann “Julie” Idell Bakken will be at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 1, 2026, at Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, MN, with Reverend Rochelle Anderson officiating.
Inurnment will be in Summit Cemetery in Morris, MN, following the service.
Julie was born on May 29, 1956 in Morris, MN, to Eldon and Lorraine (Anderson) Bakken. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Donnelly. She graduated in 1974 from Morris High School.
On May 28, 1977, she married Gale Stoneburg. The couple was blessed with two sons, Chad and Derek. Although the two later divorced, Julie and Gale remained friends until her death.
Along with being a homemaker and mother, Julie worked as a Certified Nursing Assistant at the Villa in Morris. She was an upbeat, kind, and happy-go-lucky person. Her outgoing spirit enabled her to visit with everyone she crossed paths with. Outside of work, she loved deer hunting, fishing, road trips, music, and of course the Vikings. Julie was also an animal lover having dogs, cats, and many other farm animals throughout her life. Family was the center of her world and her greatest joy. She loved her sons with all her heart and treasured her role as a grandmother to her three grandchildren.
Left to cherish her memories include her sons: Chad (Mary) Stoneburg of Moorhead, MN, and Derek Stoneburg of Moorhead, MN; grandchildren: Colton, Stella, and Waylon Stoneburg; sister: Stacy Bakken (Darrin); brother-in-law,: Dennis Wernsing; and many nieces and nephews; as well as great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents: Eldon and Lorraine Bakken; an infant brother; and sisters: Alane Schauster and Karleen Wernsing.
