Kandiyohi Co Scam Warning

The Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office is warning residents of recent fraudulent calls from people impersonating law enforcement.

The Sheriff’s Office has received numerous reports of phone calls where the caller says he’s a Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office employee speaking about an arrest warrant for failing to appear for jury duty.

Authorities say the calls appear to be coming from the Sheriff’s Office, but are apparently altered using a “spoofing” app and are after sensitive information or money.

Anyone receiving these calls is advised by the Sheriff’s Office not to engage with the caller and hang up.
