Kandiyohi County Grain Bin Rescue

A man from Spicer was rescued after being trapped in a grain bin Thursday afternoon.

At just before 1:30pm, the Kandiyohi County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a 65-year-old man who was trapped in a grain bin in the 5000 block of 22nd St SW, just southwest of Willmar.

On arrival, deputies learned the man was up to his chest in soybeans but unable to extricate himself. Eventually, emergency crews were able to safely extract the man from the bin.

He was taken to CentraCare Rice hospital in Willmar.

His name was not released and his exact condition is unknown.
