Kandiyohi County Pursuit

Charges are pending against a man from Boyd after authorities in Kandiyohi County say he drove into a construction zone illegally on Highway 23 in Edwards Township Saturday morning and failed to stop after a traffic stop was initiated.

The Sheriff’s Office says the 40-year-old driver called 911 during the incident and said he had his 6 and 10-year-old boys in the vehicle.

Authorities were able to keep the man on the phone during the pursuit to establish a dialog. Speeds of the pursuit were relatively low and deputies communicated with the driver through dispatch and he agreed to pull over safely.

The suspect was taken into custody without further incident and the mother was able to take her children from the scene.
