She graduated from high school in 1969 and attended Morehead State University in Kentucky. In 1973, Kathy married Charles Rowe, and the couple moved to Madison, WI, later settling in Wisconsin Rapids, WI, and eventually in Wadena, MN, where she raised her children, Tamara and Matthew.

Kathy was a dedicated homemaker and an active community volunteer, contributing her time to the Wadena Hospital Auxiliary, Homemaker’s Club, and serving as a Girl Scout leader for 12 years. Kathy relocated to Alexandria, MN in 2000 and married Paul Hagestuen in 2006. Together, they built their forever home in Nelson, MN. Kathy loved to decorate for the holidays, entertain and was happiest to be surrounded by family. Later, Paul and Kathy opened “The Carriage House” store in downtown Alexandria where they both got to enjoy their passion for antiques. After retirement, they spent time traveling in their RV, going to concerts and enjoying the lake life.
