KDUZ/KARP/KGLB Community Calendar
This summer the Hutchinson School District will be offering free breakfast and lunches to all kids ages 18 and under regardless of income, school district and other social guidelines. Three separate sites will be offering meals to the public from NOW – Aug 21st (M-Th). West Elementary will be Dine In Only, Tiger Elementary and The Aquatic / Rec Center will be offering To Go meals. NEW this year, Tiger Elementary will be serving weekend meals on Thursdays. Parents and children will be able to pick up lunch for Thurs, breakfast and lunch for Friday thru Sunday and Monday breakfast. That’s 8 meals at one time!! Dates & times are listed below. Volunteers are also appreciated if interested.

Silver Lake has their Music in the Park Series this Summer at the SL Legion City Park. Food served at 5:30 pm, Music at 6:30 pm. Schedule:

Alumni and Friends of Brownton High School and McLeod West High School are invited to the Brownton All School Reunion. The Reunion Event will be held Saturday, July 26 at the Brownton Area Civic Center with a Social beginning at 5:00 pm, meal at 6:30 pm, followed by a program and music. St. Peter Lutheran Church of Lester Prairie is hosting their Annual Ice Cream Social and Country Store on Sunday, July 27 from 3:30 – 6:30 P.M. Menu: hamburgers, hot dogs, BBQ’s, baked beans, potato salad, homemade pies, ice cream, root beer floats, coffee, lemonade, water and milk. Take out is available.

The Hutchinson Library has a Meet the Author event on Wednesday, August 6th from 2:30-5:30 pm at the Hutchinson Farmers Market. Author Teresa Peterson will be speaking on her book “Perennial Ceremony: Lessons and Gifts from a Dakota Garden.” Featured talks will be held at 3 pm and 4:30 pm.

2BCONTINUED hosts a Suicide Loss Support Group, a supportive and safe environment for adult suicide loss survivors to share and connect with others who have also experienced the loss of a loved one to suicide. This group meet every 2nd Monday of the month from 7:00-8:30 pm at 2BCONTINUED’s office – 305 7th St E, Glencoe, MN 55336. The group is led by Brooke Dingels, a trained loss support group facilitator. Brooke lost her father to suicide in 2019, and connecting with people who have experienced similar loss has been helpful to her, and she wants to offer that same hope to others. (2025 Dates: Aug 11, Sept 8, Oct 13, Nov 10, Dec 8)
