Kenneth Francis Hruby

Kenneth Francis Hruby, 77, of Faribault Minnesota, passed away peacefully at Allina Health Medical Center on February 7, 2026.

Kenneth, born July 9, 1948, was raised in Londsdale, Minnesota by his parents Lillian and Frank Hruby. He attended primary and secondary education at Bethlehem Academy in Faribault. Throughout his life, Kenenth held a variety of jobs, most notably being a member of the Operating Engineers Local 49, where he ran heavy equipment until he retired. Kenneth appreciated classic cars from his era and enjoyed attending car shows. He cherished a good conversation with family, friends, and the people he would meet. Known as a storyteller, he loved to make people laugh with a good joke. Amongst his closest companions throughout his life were his beloved dogs.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his significant other Maureen Nelson, his parents, and his two sisters, Judy Hennen and Delores Hruby. Survived by his four children Wendy (Chad) Gasca, Sarah Hruby-Morris (Damian Morris), Shelly Hruby, Shawn (Angela) Hruby; grandchildren Andrew Gasca, Elizabeth Gasca, Hannah Bulatao, Maxwell Bulatao, Madelyn Bulatao, and Myles Hruby. Also survived by cherished loved ones Elizabeth (Tom) Silkey, their son Robert Silkey and his family, Dicie Nelson and her children, Steven and Makenzie Nelson, and many other relatives and dear friends.

Special thanks to the doctors, nurses, social workers, and hospice staff for their excellent care, guidance, and support.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date for his loved ones to gather and share memories.
