Kenneth “Ken/Kenny” Kimmet

Kenneth “Ken/Kenny” Kimmet, age 74, of Le Center, died on Tuesday, June 25, 2024 at the Estates of Roseville in Roseville. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 2 from 4pm-7pm at the Schoenbauer Funeral Home in Montgomery. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, July 3 at 11am at St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Heidelberg with visitation one hour prior at the Church. Interment will be held in St. Scholastica Catholic Church in Heidelberg. Military honors will be provided by the Montgomery Area Veteran Honor Guard.

Ken was born on July 4, 1949 in New Prague to John and Monica (Ginter) Kimmet. He grew up on his family farm in Le Center. He was a graduate of Montgomery High School. He served our country in the United States Army in Vietnam and received many medals including the Bronze Star. Ken worked as a truck driver for PCI for 28 years before retiring. Ken was proud to be a member of Alcoholics Anonymous and was sober for 42 years and was also a member of the Montgomery American Legion and VFW. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, cruising around on either his Harley or his ’69 Chevelle. He especially enjoyed spending time with his nieces.

Ken is survived by his brother, Terry (Elaine) Kimmet of Le Center; nieces, Christine (Chad) Helmers of Montgomery, Jackie Kimmet of Le Center, and Jen (Brian) Svendsen of Lonsdale; great-nieces and nephews, Shaelyn and Kaitlyn Moudry, Finley and Rhett Svendsen.

Ken is preceded in death by his parents, John and Monica Kimmet; his two beloved dogs, Tater and Harley.
