Klobuchar Pushes for Year-Round E-15 Sales

(Learfield News/Washington, D.C.) — Minnesota Senator Amy Klobuchar is continuing her push for year‑round E‑15 sales nationwide.

Klobuchar, the ranking member of the U.S. Senate Agriculture Committee, says allowing 15‑percent ethanol fuel to be sold in all states during the summer months would provide consumers with more options at the pump and help ease price pressures.

Minnesota and seven other Midwestern states have permanent EPA waivers allowing year‑round E‑15 sales.

However, 42 states are still barred from selling the blend from June through mid‑September, due to federal vapor‑pressure regulations.
