Kristine Ann Krenz, age 57 of Wheaton, Minnesota, passed away Friday, August 21, 2026 at the Traverse Care Center in Wheaton, MN.
Visitation for Kristine Krenz will be held Thursday, August 27, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. at Ave Maria Catholic Church in Wheaton, MN.
Mass of Christian Burial for Kristine Ann Krenz will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 27, 2026, at Ave Maria Catholic Church in Wheaton, MN, with Fr. John Paul Knopik Celebrant.
Burial will be in Wildwood Cemetery, Wheaton, MN.
Lunch will be served at the Wheaton American Legion following the service.
Kristine was born November 21, 1968 in Saint Paul, Minnesota to Diane and John (Dick) Casey. Kris grew up in Prior Lake, Minnesota with her three siblings. She enjoyed reading, boating and was very active in sports. Kris graduated from Prior Lake High School in 1987. She later attended college at Saint Benedict in Saint Joseph, Minnesota and graduated with a Russian history degree in 1991.
After college Kris moved to Saint Cloud and commuted to Saint Paul where she worked in the financial insurance industry. She later met Brad Krenz through a friend and they were married on February 16, 2001.
Brad and Kris made the decision shortly after they were married to move to Wheaton, MN, to pursue their dreams of being business owners. They shortly after bought Whaley Excavating in 2001, which Brad still owns to this day.
After getting settled on the Krenz family farm that Brad grew up on, they welcomed their first born daughter, Katherine, into this world on February 25, 2002. On January 16, 2004, they had their second child, Joey. Kris made her children her entire world. Those that knew her, knew how fiercely and strongly she loved her children. She brought this love into the Wheaton community, volunteering at Pearson Elementary and later she went on to be a school board member for 10+ years. She was always looking to fill her plate with more, leading her to apply for the position of Wheaton city administrator, which she held up until she got diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer in 2017. Kris’s strength and passion to survive throughout her cancer journey was admirable and she will be remembered for her strength.
Kris is survived by her husband Brad Krenz; daughter: Katherine Krenz; son: Joesph Krenz; father: John (Dick) Casey; sister: Lorie (Jack) Schlichting; brother: Jim (Karin) Casey; and a number of nieces and nephews.
Kris is preceded in death by her mother: Diane Casey; and brother: Steve Casey.
Arrangements are with Bainbridge Funeral Home in Wheaton, MN.
