Kyrou’s Hat Trick Powers Blues Past Wild

ST. PAUL, MN – Jordan Kyrou netted his fifth career hat trick as the St. Louis Blues cruised to a 5-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Saturday night.

Brayden Schenn contributed a goal and an assist, while Jake Neighbours also found the back of the net, helping the Blues secure their third win in five games. Cam Fowler, Robert Thomas, and Pavel Buchnevich each recorded two assists, and goaltender Joel Hofer made 17 saves.

Jake Middleton scored the lone goal for Minnesota, while Filip Gustavsson stopped 22 shots. The Wild have now dropped four of their last five contests.

Schenn opened the scoring just over four minutes into the game, and Neighbours doubled St. Louis’ lead midway through the second period. Kyrou extended the advantage to 3-0 later in the period, burying a rebound off a Schenn shot with 7:38 left.

Minnesota responded quickly, as Middleton capitalized on a misplayed clearing attempt by Hofer just 25 seconds later. Middleton corralled the puck near the blue line, skated in, and fired it into an open net before Hofer could recover.

Kyrou struck again in the third period, restoring the Blues’ three-goal cushion with 8:30 remaining. He sealed his hat trick—and the win—with an empty-net goal at the 2:20 mark, bringing his season total to 27 goals.

With the victory, St. Louis improved to 7-2-1 in its last 10 games and moved within two points of the final wild-card spot in the Western Conference. Meanwhile, Minnesota, holding onto the first wild-card position, has struggled with a 3-6-1 record over its last 10 games.

Kyrou’s performance also placed him in elite company, as he became just the third Blues player in the past 40 years to record four or more consecutive 25-goal seasons, joining Brett Hull (10 seasons) and Vladimir Tarasenko (5 seasons).
