Larry Dean Osterman, age 81 of of Cyrus, Minnesota, passed away Thursday, March 19, 2026, at Minnewaska Lutheran Home in Starbuck, MN.

Visitation for Larry Osterman will be held Tuesday, March 24, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service concluding the visitation at the Pedersen Funeral Home in Morris, MN.

Visitation will continue from 10:00 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Cyrus, MN.

Memorial services for Larry Dean Osterman will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 25, 2026, at Trinity Lutheran Church, Cyrus, MN, with Reverend’s Christopher Richards and Julius Miller officiating.

Burial will be in Cyrus South Cemetery, in Cyrus, MN.

He was born on May 13, 1944, in Britton, South Dakota, a son of Hans and Mathilda (Bahr) Osterman. He grew up in Sisseton, South Dakota, where he graduated from Sisseton High School before settling down in the Cyrus, MN area. He served his country for seven years in the National Guard. On June 21, 1968, he married Rose Marie Ronnie at Glenwood Lutheran Church in Glenwood. He worked as a farmer, truck driver and parts manager for the majority of his life. He enjoyed playing cards, watching ball games, farming and always had a positive attitude – above all, he was devoted to his family whom he loved very much. He was a long-time member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Cyrus.

He is survived by his wife: Rose; his sons: Timothy (Rhonda) Osterman, Daniel Osterman (Theresa Norman); his daughter: Carrie (Sean) McMahon; and six grandchildren: Kayla and Paytin McMahon, Phillip and Victoria Osterman, William Osterman (Lacie Olson), Warren Osterman; siblings: Angela (Jack) Brooks, Darwin Osterman; as well as several nieces, nephews, and other extended relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents: Hans and Mathilda; infant son; siblings: Gary, Roger, and Gerald Osterman; and daughter-in-law: Billie-Marie Osterman.
