LEGISLATORS RETURN FROM EASTER/PASSOVER BREAK
Minnesota lawmakers return to the State Capitol today (Monday) following the Easter/Passover break. Passing a two-year state budget and a bonding bill are among the top priorities for the legislature. The House Ways and Means Committee, co-chaired by Representative Paul Torkelson of Hanska is scheduled to take up the $172-million agriculture finance bill this afternoon. Only a handful of bills have been passed this session, but House and Senate leaders are confident they can complete their work by the May 19th deadline.
