Lewis scores twice, Kings roll to 5-1 win over Wild
ST. PAUL, MN – Trevor Lewis netted two goals, Kevin Fiala added a power-play tally, and the Los Angeles Kings cruised to a 5-1 victory over the Minnesota Wild on Tuesday night. Warren Foegele and Quinton Byfield also found the back of the net for the Kings, who were playing the second leg of a back-to-back after a 3-0 win in Nashville the night before. Goaltender David Rittich turned aside 23 shots in the win.
Fiala, who was traded to Los Angeles by Minnesota in 2022 for a first-round pick and defenseman Brock Faber, registered his seventh goal of the season. Over his last seven games against his former team, Fiala has been particularly effective, tallying three goals and six assists.
The Wild, riding a three-game win streak, opened the scoring in the second period when Zach Bogosian scored his first goal of the season. Minnesota’s goaltender Filip Gustavsson stopped 23 shots in the losing effort.
Looking ahead, the Kings will host Vancouver on Thursday, while the Wild will travel to San Jose for their next game.
