License-Plate Cameras Help Troopers Recover Abducted Teen

A 15-year-old girl abducted from Wyoming has been recovered safely following a traffic stop in South Dakota.

Wyoming authorities notified South Dakota’s Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force Monday afternoon that they were searching for a vehicle connected to the girl’s abduction from Sundance.

License-plate-reader technology located the vehicle in South Dakota. Highway Patrol troopers stopped it on Interstate 90 east of Plankinton less than one hour after receiving the alert.

Authorities arrested 36-year-old Dalton Renollet of Maricopa, Arizona. He is charged in Aurora County with sexual contact with a minor. Additional charges are expected in Wyoming.
