Litchfield Man Adds 3rd Violent Felony to Accusations
(Learfield News/Meeker County, MN) — A Litchfield man now faces a third charge of committing a violent felony within a year in Meeker County.
Twenty-six-year-old Tre Ertl is accused of attempted second-degree murder and more for helping attack a man with an axe and baseball bat during a robbery in Litchfield in March 2024; attempted second-degree murder and more for beating and stabbing an Olivia man while trying to rob him near Litchfield in June 2024; and now third-degree assault for beating a fellow inmate while in Meeker County Jail on February 19th.
Ertl is jailed on $4 million unconditional bail.
Prosecutors ask if and when Ertl is convicted his sentences will be served consecutively.
