LOCAL CITY GOVERNMENT, SCHOOL BOARD SPOTS OPENING

Candidate filing periods for city governments and local school boards opens today (Tuesday).  New Ulm School Board has four of its seven seats up for election.  Candidates must file at the district office at New Ulm Middle School.  There are three positions on the Sleepy Eye School board up for re-election and the Sleepy Eye city council has elections in Wards 1 and 2 and mayor Wayne Pelzel is eligible to run for re-election.  The filing period will be open from today (Tuesday) through August 13.  Offices where to file will be open an extra hour on August 13.
