Lois Lydia King

Lois Lydia King, age 87, of Le Sueur passed away April 25, 2026, at her home
in Le Sueur. Memorial services will be on Thursday, April 30, 2026, at 11:00
a.m. at United Methodist Church of Le Sueur. Visitation will be at the church
two hours prior to the service. Burial will be at Mound Cemetery, Le Sueur,
followed by a lunch at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting
gifts be made to United Methodist Church of Le Sueur or Redeemer Lutheran
Church, Blakely Township.
Lois Lydia King was born October 13, 1938, to Fred and Minnie (Latzke)
Krentz in Tyrone Township, and was baptized and confirmed at Redeemer
Lutheran Church. Lois attended District 66 Country School before attending
Le Sueur High School and graduating in 1956. She married Robert Howard
King in 1957, had three children and later divorced.
Lois worked in the R&D laboratory for Green Giant/Pillsbury for fifteen years,
making numerous lifelong friends and enjoying the opportunities to travel,
followed by the Le Sueur Cheese Company’s R&D laboratory for the next
fifteen years. After retiring, she spent her free time volunteering for Aging
Services driving clients to various appointments, which she looked forward to
and enjoyed for that golden number yet again, fifteen years.
Lois was a quiet and gentle person who never sought attention but instead
showed her love through acts of service. She was always ready to fill a plate,
offer a helping hand, or step in whenever she was needed. Her kindness was
steady and generous, expressed in the everyday ways that meant the most.
She found joy spending time with family and friends. Lois loved entertaining,
especially attending bingo and hosting 500 card club, family camping trips,
and preparing meals and baked goods for those she loved. The nostalgia of
ham pasta salad, the comfort of freshly picked from the backyard rhubarb
turned into jams and bars, the tradition of Easter lemon Schaum torte and the
simplicity of cinnamon toast in the morning will be held close in our hearts.
Lois also appreciated life’s simple pleasures. She enjoyed sharing laughs over
game shows and “America’s Funniest Home Videos,” repurposed greeting
cards carefully folded into gift boxes, and keeping family history and
memorabilia often written in her beautiful handwriting. Even in her final days,
she found moments of humor and lightheartedness and still had the energy to
laugh.
Lois is survived by her children Judy (Duane) Swenson of Fergus Falls, MN,
Steven (Wendy) King and James (Lori) King of Le Sueur; grandchildren Jena

King of Le Sueur, Lydia (Nick) Swenson of Portland, OR; Sarah and David
King of Le Sueur; as well as sister-in-laws Carol (Richard) Ulrich, Janet
Kugath, and many beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; siblings Elmira (Alfred) Otto, Earl
(Delores) Krentz, Maynard (Eunice, Doris) Krentz, and Fredrick Krentz;
sister-in-law Susan Green, brother-in-law Harlan Kugath, nieces Sandra
Seidel and Debra Otto, and nephew Randy Krentz.
Lois will be remembered for her quiet strength, generous heart, and the love
she showed through every thoughtful act. We will miss her deeply, but we
rejoice knowing she is with the Lord and that we will see her again.
