Lorenz was born on February 23, 1944 to Otto and Lillie (Buesing) Quast in St. Peter, MN. He grew up in Rush River on the family farm. He attended district 6 school in Sibley County which
later became Arlington/Green Isle. As a child on the farm he had many pets. One special hunting companion, Tippy, a faithful dog who helped bring in milk cows back home from the pasture. Life on the farm allowed Lorenz to have many hobbies. He was skilled at hunting, trapping, and fishing; he enjoyed the outdoors. He loved spending time with his nieces and nephews trapping, fishing or picking butternuts, and just being outside walking in the woods.

Lorenz farmed with his brothers before taking a job at LSI in Le Sueur where he worked for 16 years. He married Barbara Raddatz on June 17, 2000 in Kelso Township. Barb and Lorenz were avid collectors who were always looking for an adventure, together they had many until her death in 2015. Lorenz had many friends he loved spending time with. Be it going to Pioneer Power Swap Meet, or just a good auction. He loved seeing and talking with his friends.

Lorenz is survived by his sisters; Ruth Prahl of Le Sueur, MN, Mayona Brenke of NYA, MN and Cindy (John) Quast of Henderson, MN; special friend, Sue Herberg of Le Sueur, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Otto and Lillie; wife, Barbara (2015); brothers, Ernest and John Quast; and brothers-in-law, Clinton Prahl and Walter Brenke.
