Lucille “Lovy” Ann Kahle

Lucille “Lovy” Ann Kahle, age 96 of Le Sueur, passed away at her home surrounded by family on September 9, 2024. Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, September 14, 2024 at Zion United Church of Christ in Le Sueur at 11 A.M. Visitation will be held at the church that morning from 9-11 A.M. Interment will be in Mound Cemetery, Le Sueur. Lunch to follow the burial in the church social hall.

Lovy was born on January 25, 1928 to Melvin and Violet (Nagel) Reinhardt in Henderson Township, Minnesota. She attended Sand Prairie Country School until she began working at Ben Martel’s Restaurant in Le Sueur. On February 14, 1947 she married LeRoy “Dick” Kahle at Zion United Church of Christ. Together they built a home in Le Sueur before moving to their country home in 1963.

She helped run the family construction business for many years, helped her husband LeRoy farm, and managed various rental properties in the Le Sueur and surrounding area. She was always looking for the next business opportunity, and was not afraid to get to work! Lovy was part of the Zion Ladies Guild (Eastern Star), served a term on the Le Sueur School Board, enjoyed flowers and taking care of her lawn, bowling, playing horseshoes, bean bag tournaments, a great line dancer, an avid Polka music listener, and enjoyed a good game of cards with her partner, John Schluter and family.

She is survived by her children, Barry Kahle of Le Sueur, Barb (Mark Healy) Berndt of Le Sueur, and Heidi (Thomas) Obele of Le Sueur; 8 grandchildren, Stacy (Michael) Roehler-Pahl, Chad (Kim) Roehler, Shawn (Kristine Tullis) Roehler, Kellie (Jim Fiedler) Roehler, Tammy Berndt, Daniel (Chris) Berndt, Nicole (Jason) Aune and Ryan (Ashley) Obele; 13 great- grandchildren, and sisters-in-law, Joan Reinhardt and Sylvia Reinhardt.

Lovy is preceded in death by her parents; husband, LeRoy “Dick” Kahle; special friend, John Schluter; daughter and son-in-law, Sandy and Norm Roehler; son-in-law, Duane Berndt; grandson, Scott Berndt; brothers, Donald, Roger and Connie Reinhardt; and sister-in-law, Janice Reinhardt.
