Lynx down 0-1 in WNBA Semi Finals
(Minneapolis, MN) — The Minnesota Lynx fell to the Connecticut Sun 73-70 during Game One of the W-N-B-A Semifinals last night at the Target Center. Napheesa Collier missed a game-tying three at the buzzer as the Lynx fell behind in the best-of-five series 1-0. Collier scored 19 points in the losing effort, while Bridget Carleton finished with 17. Minnesota had a five-point lead heading into the fourth quarter, but shot just 4-for-18 in the final frame and were outscored 16-8. The Lynx host the Sun in Game Two tomorrow night at 8:30 P-M at the Target Center.

Forward Napheesa Collier was named W-N-B-A Defensive Player of the Year, while head coach Cheryl Reeve won Coach and Executive of the Year. Collier averaged one-point-nine steals and one-point-four blocks per game while leading the league in defensive rating. Reeve and Collier led the team to the second-best record in the W-N-B-A this season at 30-10. Center Alanna Smith was named to the W-N-B-A All-Defensive Second Team, while Collier was on the first team. The Lynx are seeking their fifth title in franchise history this season.
