Lynx make moves before Draft
(Minneapolis, MN/Minnesota News Network) — The Minnesota Lynx were busy yesterday, signing agent returnees Kayla McBride and Courtney Williams to max player deals. McBride is a five-time all-star who averaged 14-points per game last year. Williams averaged 13.6-points and 6.2-assists per game. Former Lynx center Natasha Howard is returning to Minnesota after playing a year ago with Indiana. Howard was part of the 2017 Lynx title team. Minnesota also inked forward Nia Coffey of Minneapolis to a contract. She spent the past four seasons with Atlanta, scoring 3.4-points per contest last year. The Lynx also signed six players to training camp agreements, including forward Emma Cechova of the Czech Republic, guard Antonia Delaere of Belguim, guard Eliska Hamzova of the Czech Republic, guard Reigan Richardson and guard Jaylyn Sherrod. Richardson was with Minnesota in last year’s training camp, while Sherrod spent some time on the Lynx regular season roster a year ago. Minnesota also inked guard Aubrey Griffin to a rookie scale contract. The Lynx turn their attention to tonight’s W-N-B-A Draft. Minnesota currently holds the second overall pick. Dallas has the top pick. The draft starts at 7 P-M.
