Lynx Rookie Shines in WNBA All-Star Victory
Minnesota Lynx rookie Olivia Miles nearly recorded a triple-double while helping Team Spoon win Saturday night’s W-N-B-A All-Star Game in Chicago.
Miles finished with 11 points, 12 rebounds and eight assists as Team Spoon defeated Team Coop 129-to-122. She delivered several highlight-reel passes and was the only rookie selected for the game.
Lynx guard Courtney Williams added 12 points for the winning team, which was coached by Minnesota’s Cheryl Reeve. Lynx forward Natasha Howard played for Team Coop.
Jonquel Jones led Team Spoon with 22 points, 13 rebounds and eight assists off the bench. She was named the game’s Most Valuable Player.
Caitlin Clark added 17 points, five assists and four rebounds for Team Spoon. Kelsey Mitchell led all scorers with 28 points for Team Coop.
The victory earned 70-thousand dollars for Girls in the Game, a Chicago organization supporting sports, health and leadership programs for girls. WNBA recap
