MAN ARRESTED IN HANSKA DOUBLE HOMICIDE
A man is in custody in Iowa after a double-homicide in Hanska Sunday morning. Authorities say Brown County dispatch received a 911 call around 4:22 from a juvenile saying his mother’s ex-boyfriend broke into their house and shot his mom. Law enforcement found two victims in the home, a 50-year-old male and a 32-year-old female, both dead of gunshot wounds. 45-year-old Randy Thomas Zimmerman was named a suspect and was taken into custody Sunday afternoon on southeast Iowa. No names have been released yet and the investigation is continuing. The Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension, Brown and Nicollet County Sheriff’s Offices, New Ulm and Sleepy Eye Police Departments, Hanska Fire Department, River Valley Tactical Response Team and the Brown-Lyon-Redwood-Renville Drug Task Force are all assisted in the investigation.
