Man Charged in Fatal Minneapolis Care-Facility Attack

A man is facing a murder charge following an alleged attack at a Minneapolis residential mental-health facility that killed one person and involved assaults on four others.

Thirty-one-year-old Derek Faulkner is charged with second-degree murder and four counts of second-degree assault with a dangerous weapon.

Court documents allege Faulkner attacked residents and a staff member Monday morning using household objects. One victim died at the hospital early Tuesday.

Faulkner remains in custody. The allegations have not been proven in court.
