Man From Marshall Dies after Being Hit by Vehicle in Scott County

A man from Marshall is dead after being struck by a vehicle early Friday morning on Highway 169 in Scott County.

The State Patrol says 25-year-old Firaol Merbratu was hit around 6am in Jackson Township.

The Patrol says a vehicle was traveling southbound on Highway 169 near Old Brickyard Road and the driver maneuvered to the left lane to avoid a stalled vehicle on the right shoulder. Merbratu was standing in the left lane and was struck by vehicle.

The driver and passenger in the vehicle were not injured.
