MAN IN CUSTODY AFTER ST. PETER STANDOFF

A man was taken into custody after  the Nicollet County Sheriff’s Office conducted a welfare check at a residence on Cedar Ridge Rod just outside of St. Peter.  Officers found a man with a rifle outside if a residence.  Officers established a perimeter for containment and attempted to make contact with the man.  The man fired several shots but he was in a location where there was no threat to the public.  The man was eventually taken into custody.  No other information is available at this time as the investigation is ongoing.
