Man Indicted in Feeding Our Future Scheme Taken Into Custody by FBI

(Learfield News/Brooklyn Center, MN)  – A man indicted for stealing 4.2 million dollars in the Feeding Our Future fraud scheme two years ago is now in federal custody.

The U.S. Attorney’s Office says 47-year-old Said Abdullahi Ereg surrendered to the FBI Wednesday at MSP Airport.

They were offering a 150-thousand-dollar reward for information that led to his arrest.

Prosecutors say Ereg enrolled his south Minneapolis grocery and deli in the federal child nutrition program and falsely claimed to serve 1.4 million meals to kids in need.
