Man Severely Injured in Meeker Co Brush Fire

A Winsted man was severely burned while attempting to burn a brush pile in Meeker County Thursday afternoon, north of Dassel.

The Sheriff’s Office says 53-year-old Jeremy Hirsch was assisting family with yard clean-up and was attempting to burn a brush pile using an accelerant when the fire came back on him causing severe burns over a significant portion of his body.

Hirsch was airlifted to HCMC in Minneapolis for treatment.
