MAN SHOOTS AT OWATONNA OFFICERS

An Owatonna man is in custody after an incident Wednesday night in which he allegedly shot at police and then shot himself.  Police received a report around 8:20 pm of a person in crisis who left the area in a vehicle.  Officers located the vehicle on West Bridge Street and initiated a traffic stop.  The driver became uncooperative, and started shooting at officers.  The driver then fled in the vehicle.  Police say the man, who hasn’t been identified, shot himself and was taken into custody without incident and taken to a hospital.  His condition has not been released.  A shelter-in-place was issued around 10:15 pm but was eventually lifted.  The investigation is continuing.
