Man Who Held Hostages At St. Cloud Bank Sentenced

(St. Cloud, MN) — A Waite Park man who pleaded guilty to holding bank employees hostage during a bank robbery in St. Cloud over three years ago is going to prison.

Ray McNeary has been sentenced to more than six years behind bars.

Judge Jeffrey Bryan also sentenced McNeary to five years of supervised release and ordered him to pay 82 hundred dollars in restitution.

McNeary was arrested in May 2021 following a nine-hour standoff at a Wells Fargo bank branch.
