MARSHALL MAN WITH GUN ARRESTED NEAR TRACY HIGH SCHOOL

A Marshall man armed with a handgun was arrested Tuesday just north of Tracy High School after he made public threats.  The incident prompted a lockdown of local schools and a coordinated search involving multiple law enforcement agencies.  The Tracy Police Department received a report shortly after 4 pm Tuesday and started a search for 25-year-old Alec John of Marshall.  He was not immediately found so Tracy High School, Elementary school and Tracy Kids World were placed on lockdown as a precaution.  Jahn was found hiding just north of the high school property and he was arrested without incident.  A handgun was recovered at the scene.  Jahn appeared in Lyon County District Court Wednesday on charges of making terroristic threats and carrying a pistol without a permit.  Bail was set at $50,000 without conditions or $20,000 with conditions.  Assisting agencies were the Lyon, Lincoln, Redwood and Murray County Sheriff’s Offices and the Walnut Grove and Lamberton Police Departments, the state patrol and the DNR.
